Ahhh, happy days... not.

 

There was still some whingeing and whining from the museological purists when we did this. We ragged the panels off the smashed cockpit frame and stuck it back together again. According to them we were 'destroying history'. A great deal of work went into getting that frame not only dimensionally correct but also in chasing out the damage and adding strength where needed. It turned out rather well, I think.
