Re: ATL Script

Indeed we did, Mr Dzinora! Having gatecrashed the first week's filming of ATL back in 1988 it was nice to be able give an insight into the production back in January as part of the 50th anniversary commemorations and even I learnt a thing or two when researching and revisiting some of the locations ...

Remembering Donald - January 2017

Followers of all things Bluebird and Campbell may be interested to know the Speed Record Club have organised a series of events, some public, some members and guests only, in and around Coniston to mark the 50th Anniversary of the fateful day. This will actually be the 26th year running that the Clu...

Re: Other Speed Record Breakers Are Available!

Going to be powered by an ex Concorde Olympus with reheat.
The Dartagnan SP600 is using a Rolls Royce Adour 104 rather than an Olympus, but should still create bit of a wave!

Re: 4th January 2016

Members of the Speed Record Club gathered in Coniston over the weekend to pay tribute to Donald, the 24th such time for the Club. This year proved to be rather special as Gina and Mr Whoppit also joined us, pictured here at the Campbell Memorial. After a visit to Belle Grange Cottage on the Lake Win...

Re: What have forum members been up to?

I've been in touch with the producers of the TV series "Endeavour" on behalf of the Speed Record Club and can reveal that the "Red Tail" hydroplane used in the episode is created entirely through the magic of cgi! The shots of the craft running were made by overlaying the cgi ima...

Re: Other Speed Record Breakers Are Available!

The Castrol Rocket has always been a gorgeous bit of kit and it will be interesting to see how Guy gets on with his new challenge but let's not kid ourselves that this is a British effort, this is very much a North American inspired adventure. Should make for mega TV though! https://www.youtube.com/...

Re: Other Speed Record Breakers Are Available!

Another project in the news over the weekend was Richard Brown's Jet Reaction two wheeler with a very nice full page article in the Sunday Times Driving supplement. Can't help but feel Richard is too often overlooked given his design/build skills and past history in the speed arena. Things seem to b...

Re: 14th Lift Anniversary

As one of those others that recalls the day as if yesterday it is hard to believe that 14 years have passed. I also acknowledge that as one of those that believed that K7 should remain undisturbed for eternity the workmanship and attention to detail is awe inspiring and I now long to see her complet...
