Getting personal is extremely unprofessional, and is only used as a tactic when there isn't a valid argument to be made.
You might want to remind others around here of that fact... you know, the ones who invented the term 'Type 3' for that specific purpose? :D

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

I can buy a car which is a write-off in the legal sense, or 'wreck' if you will. It might be as simple as replacing a radiator strut; fit a new quarter panel skin, and put a new engine in it to put it back on the road. Once the engineering has been signed off on the repairs, I can then register the...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

...in a legal sense, the wreckage of K7 now no longer exists (save for possibly a few small shards of twisted metal at the bottom of Coniston, and the corroded jet engine in the museum)... And yet, ironically, BBP has spent years trying to convince us of how much of the boat is original... I seem t...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

I would much prefer that the BBP and the Ruskin sit down like adults and hash things out and reach an agreement I'd like to make a point here because so many observers have said that we should stop the squabbling and sit down like grownups and they are both absolutely right and completely unfair. B...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

So, according to the Sun, BBP is relying on a contract that was never signed?

Rumour elsewhere has it that the Ruskin has served a legal claim on the boat as their property.

Perhaps BBP can give either a confirmation of this or a clear denial?

Re: Bluebird Runs 2019

...and in return would retain an interest in the boat I think that's the bit that is disputed, isn't it? You are obliged (if only morally) to keep your side of the deal, but was there ever any clear, written acknowledgement of the scale and extent of your retained ownership from their side? Or was ...

Re: Bluebird Runs 2019

We've always said we'd donate the half of the boat that we scratch-built from donated materials ... Perhaps I'm old-fashioned, but I've always believed in keeping my word. That being the case, whether you like the end result or not, is there really anything further to discuss? It seems distasteful ...

...don't for a moment think that there was ever any promise to hand over all our hard work without strings attached because there never was. Then why did you publish the statement that I linked above, which is still there for all to see, on your website? Can you comment on Ernie's assertion that ac...

Re: Coniston - Spiritual Home?

So, for the record, you are confirming on behalf of BBP that K7 will be handed over to the Ruskin museum in due course? No ifs, no buts, not conditions or strings attached? See above - she will be displayed there should the museum get its act together but there will be many strings attached. So tha...
