Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

Did you just say "Lake Winnebago"?

15x50km and 6m deep with many access points and little bureaucracy.
Big noisy fast boats welcome. Ted will find friends and Bluebird may find a fair race.
The local sailing speed record was 143mph before Donald got started.

Anyone found wrong side of the ropes without the relevant pass will be chopped up and fed to the trout.

Re: Pic of the Day

Progress defies words, as ever over past some years.

Apart from color, iirc there was something specially slippery about the original bottom paint. Any thoughts about replicating that or not?

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

Ah. Right. It's supposed to be pointy. My bad. Dunno why I thought otherwise, but the picture still looks surprising to me.

Had to look up toffee hammer. One of these might do:

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

If that silver band across the pointy end represents a windscreen, then that would give some idea of scale.

Re: Pic of the Day

Is it my imagination, or is the Orpheus jetpipe suffering from a slight droop? (Cue a host of Viagra jokes....) Seriously, it looks like a rather lengthy component to be left unsupported and there appears to be a stress ridge forming in the first section of the jet pipe immediately behind the turbi...

Dreadful dilemma! There must be a better way...

If only there were something like...
