There are t...

Extremely positive time on the island. Can't wait to get there!
You only have 50 sleeps to go.

[But you and the crew didn't really need reminding of that].

Good to hear about the measurement of the ferry. I take it the BBP crew will not be meeting in the hut.

Re: Other Speed Record Breakers Are Available!

The Jaguar Vector boat had a specific record to beat which was achieved by a circuit style boat. There is not much that can be done to the design of an outboard, whatever the 'power head' used. Their major advantage was that the area behind the cockpit could be kept covered to prevent (as far as pra...

When do you think you will be able to publish some kind of proposed diary......
As you will see from my other post, everyone will get about 12 hours notice of what is happening day-by-day once the Crew Training gets underway on the 4th August.

Re: Isle of Bute

Self explanatory: These notes were created after a visit to the Isle of Bute and in particular to Rothesay and Loch Fad, by BBP Operations. It summarises the warm welcome given to a ‘stranger’ introducing themselves as ‘representing the Bluebird Project’ and talking about Crew Training on the Loch i...

Re: Isle of Bute

If that is 425 miles one way, then you will know to break the journey a number of times, before you get to the ferry. The crossing allows drivers to relax before the final few miles on the Isle. Using a mix of scenic route and motorway my 320 miles from Wemyss Bay took a leisurely 7 hours on a weekd...

I bet that lumbering old bus of ours doesn't go like that.
Perhaps all the better for that as the Loch is not as long as Blowering, although both has a dam.

Re: Isle of Bute

Expectations are quite high on the Isle of Bute. Notices abound in business places.

Re: Isle of Bute

Just to add some detail to the description given by the 'boss'. The 'school' is the Rothesay Joint Campus site, which is at Townhead on the B881, which is the continuation of the High Street out of town (or about 1 mile straight off the ferry!). Note! the School holidays do end during the second wee...
