Return to the Water

Been reviewing what's to be done to get the big tin machine through her crew training and proving trials. We're fast realising that our crew training exercise is an essential step before showing K7 off again in all her noisy glory to a waiting world. The more we develop our planning documents, kit-l...

Re: Pic of the Day

Good questions and the answer is that we're rolling many cheats into one with the intakes. The 66 version imploded and had to be rebuilt so it was paint-stripped, strengthened with much added material and epoxy glue then painted with a very thin coat of cellulose paint atop a chromate wash-coat to e...

Re: Pic of the Day

The "Dragons Teeth" look awesome back in situ Bill! :D
They certainly do... and I don't think there's anyone who hasn't worked on them. I did the welding but that's where my involvement ended. Someone else did the rest before Rich made installing them his baby - a splendid team effort.

Re: Pic of the Day

Nice to see the teeth back under the nose. They're one of those jobs we dipped in and out of for years - a bit of welding here, some dressing and filing there, then put them down for months on end. I could never find all of them at the same time, either. Was always convinced we'd somehow lost one or...

Re: Prints for sale

I believe Novie may top us all on the art count as I think he has purchased almost every quality print made !
I currently hold the record for owning the greatest number of Arthur's originals - four in total.

One of Metro's founder members, Chris Jackson, later to lose a cruel battle against a rare form of cancer in 2012, pledged to help the...

Re: Stolen Sponsons

Don't get too excited - yet. The fruit of two years' hard, volunteer labour has benefited the Ruskin for a couple of years now but, as we eagerly await our invitation from Cumbria to host their free, world-class attraction that we've slaved towards since November 2002, we thought we'd set up our stu...
