Re: Return to the Water

How about a change of scenery? Coniston has had more than its fair share, Dumbelyung is shrivelling before our eyes and I suspect Lake Mead is horribly deep in the middle... Loch Eck, anyone? https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=loch+eck&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjq6YS35qncAhXRzaQKHfeiDlUQ_A...

Re: Bluebird Project You Tube Channel & Vimeo

Cant wait to see her fully painted up and finished . Don't be deceived - she's still a very long way from finished. There's many a fudge and a bodge to be cut back out and done to our usual, uncompromising standards and that will take time once we get back from Bute but she's going to look and work...

Re: Return to the Water

I honestly don't get what all the fuss is about regarding Coniston. It's deep and dark with extremely unpredictable weather. The facilities are less than ideal and no one over there seems bothered anyway. If they don't pull out all the stops to host us it's a no-brainer, we run somewhere else.

Re: Isle of Bute

Some nice ideas but if Cumbria drops the ball we're looking at Loch Eck. Made the preliminary enquiries and it's all very positive...

Re: Isle of Bute

FWIW, I personally hope that the LDNPA realise just how much of a balls-up they have made and recognise just how much of an "attraction" (and I use the term with reservation) they have missed out on due to their own short-sightedness and how much up their own backsides they have, so far, been. The ...

Re: Pic of the Day

We have a bowser with a pump coming so we shouldn't need the acrobatics depicted in today's POTD but, yes, fuelling will almost certainly be land-based. The big tin machine gets through an amazing amount of juice. Only a six or seven minute run to check values and look at the idle position slurps aw...

Re: Isle of Bute

...but at least you know you have willing helpers and some space if needed, a short distance from Bute. What's most amazing about our approach to Scotland and Bute in particular for permission to run is the unwavering support and offers of help from every possible direction. We may have to call on ...

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

Regarding the plate on the transom... It's currently in Dumbelyung on loan to the visitor's centre there so it's unlikely we'll have it back in time for Bute but no matter. There's a hundred and one other things that won't be sorted by then either. But for all those model makers out there. BB Plate....

Re: Pic of the Day

Burrell Road.... Haywards Heath....? That'll be the place - where K7 was re-engined and prepped for the 66/67 attempt. Lots of pic's from there/then in which she looks very like she does now. Still lots to do but thankfully not much more on the boat. Lots of tools and equipment, spares, fluids, tra...

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

All I need to do now is work out the details of exactly how I am going to attach it, I would like it to slide like the real thing The canopy has a blue painted frame around it with a single roller at the front that runs down a track in the fore-deck and a pair of rollers inside at the back of the f...
