Re: Bluebird Archive Photos & Films
There are some fabulous pictures on this thread...! Many thanks to all. Attached (hopefully) is my own small contribution. This is a scan of an original Geoff Hallawell print (it has his name & address on the reverse - and is marked '6343/8A 4Jan'67), which I found on the internet some years ag...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row
Donald Campbell is known to have said “Donald and boat stay together.” Returning Bluebird to Coniston where Campbell is buried will ensure, as best we can, that those wishes are fulfilled. Indeed. He is known to have said it in Dumbelyung as folks tried to persuade him to leave for Blighty as a rec...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row
It's all very simple. The museum owns half and we own the other half so we give them 80% of the year to display her and we take her on tour for the other 20%. Now all they have to do is agree to agree, sign the contracts and everyone wins. If I was offered that deal, I would bite the BBP's hands of...

Re: Triumph to Tragic in one fell swoop.
I'm working from later on- page 157 of the second edition- when he definitely says 'low pressure fuel warning light'. That he may have said 'air pressure' earlier is obviously a mistake on his part as there was no 'air pressure warning light'. Fair enough. It was said in a casual matter of fact way...

Re: Triumph to Tragic in one fell swoop.
During the start of Run 1, DMC comments that Air Pressure Low is on No, he didn't. There is no indication of starting air contents in the cockpit, only the small gauge visible at the side of the engine cover. Donald was commenting on a low pressure fuel indication, something Ted also reported on. O...

Re: Triumph to Tragic in one fell swoop.
The LP pumps are of the centrifugal, submerged variety from the Gnat, manufactured by SPE and identical to those later used on the Harrier . In the event of a failure they have a door that lifts to ensure that fuel still flows. The Lucas piston pump would have to pull a little, something it's not r...

On the water brake issue, Neil's posting of the rare TTTv footage (DCBTFRA FB page, Jan. 16th 2017) and my subsequent comments regarding the soundtrack, might prove illuminating... Ah - the world's self-appointed greatest authority on the K7 accident. Please forgive my lack of illumination... Come ...

Re: Triumph to Tragic in one fell swoop.
The most important is discipline in any venture of this sort. Lack of discipline? Example was making a second run 4 minutes after the end of the first. This whole project stems at the end of the day from that lack of discipline, for whatever reason it was made (I get such thoughts with HMRC letters...
