Your past history put a thought into my head and I have just checked something.

There are bits of two XT boats on a beach in Scotland. X24 is almost complete down in Gosport. There are also large bits of X7 around, thanks to some divers, as well as XE8.

Back in the Thrust SSC he wasn't on Squadron Duties either. He was a Military Adviser to a research project going on one building over from my office at Farnborough. Just because you aren't currently assigned to flying duties doesn't mean you have finished them forever, even at his exalted rank. Pro...
