You see, the steel used to attach the front spar, as you might guess, can't be had anymore. Well it can, but nowadays it's only used for armour plate and we would like it in 3.2mm sheet, which of course is of little use as armour as in that thickness it wouldn't stop a peashooter. So what to do? So...

after another round of surveying by Bill and myself we finally committed and I drilled the front spar to the frame of the boat, and the ends of the spar to the towers on the sponsons. This lurker thinks that sounds like a signal event. Even if the project shut down tomorrow, it seems history would ...
