Re: Quicksilver

Sorry, been off line (changing laptops). I'm pretty certain that Reid would have been "coaching" Ken, because there had been a LOT of discussion during the building of Crusader, where Railton himself, was questioned about his calc's on loads that the front shoe might encounter. Indeed, Peter du Cane...

Re: Other Speed Record Breakers Are Available!

I thought there was a finite speed for a hydrofoil, because of the cavitation, which is (again from memory) lower than the the 149 mph (probably lower than 100 mph) that Malcolm suggests may be the target?

Least said about the Wales/Kruschandl goings on the better!!

Re: Technical Talk

Sorry, no firm date, as I have been commissioned to do the technical part of a two part book, and it's down to Reid Railton's daughter when she is happy that the two parts are what she wants. My bit is nearly done though!!

Re: Infinity (and beyond?)

I have a picture of Quest somewhere, which never looked like it had enough floating area, and was on skis, which to me would have remained under water. I did post a picture of a later version, that replaced the skis with K7 type sponsons. Still couldn't see it floating! There was a guy called Barry ...

Re: Infinity (and beyond?)

There is some confusion here!!! Nothing to do with Lloyds, they don't issue these numbers, but, for insurance, like most water bourne vessels, you register it with Lloyds. Originally I think the K numbers were issued by the Royal Thames Yacht Club, and then by whoever took over the UK part of the In...
