Re: Dead Metal

Hear hear. I'm sure the words 'on fire' and 'wouldn't waste my pee' spring to a few peoples minds when thinking of hlf. So when K7 is in the museum, how close will people be able to get? Most people will probably want to get right up to her to smell the jet fuel, peer inside the cockpit and get a pi...

Re: Active support at Coniston 2010

How did Donalds original team do it? I mean SMS hadn't been invented and they didn't even have the option of tasers for the whingers! I can imagine there were quite a few anti-noise people back then, especially thinking that K7 ran on Christmas Day before. Maybe the sound of K7 is all the info peopl...

Re: Active support at Coniston 2010

Sadly, mobile phones and SMS isn't my area of geekery!

http://www.txtlocal.co.uk/ could be worth a look, they do bulk SMS but no idea how you'd charge people to recieve them...

Re: Active support at Coniston 2010

I just have tekky IT experience but would pitch in with any general stuff needed by the team while I was there - i'm in London and probably wont get to be in Coniston for the whole week. Also, depending on how popular K7's homecoming is, it may be well difficult getting somewhere to stay within clos...

Re: How fast?

Cheers for the info, really cannot wait to see her running.

Shame she wasn't built as a 2 seater like thrust 2 - though she wouldn't look half as good - people would sell their grannies to have a ride in her!

How fast?

How fast does K7 have to go to come out of the water and start planing?

Although I reckon a rebuilt K7 is still potentially the fastest boat ever, we all know she's not going to be doing 300+mph again. But what kind of speed can we expect to see in order to watch her as she was designed to move?

Re: New Members

Saw a surprise article in London Metro today featuring Gina Campbell getting busy with K7s frame. In the paper there was a good pic showing a model of K7 with Mr Whoppit but in the link below they dont seem to have it. http://www.metro.co.uk/news/article.html?Bluebird_rebuild_wins_seal_of_approval&i...

Re: New Members

Been an avid follower of BBP from waaay back, well pleased to see this forum now. How about a webcam in the BBP workshop so we can watch everyone running around like one-legged cats trying to bury a turd on a frozen pond? Seriously though, keep up the amazing work. I wonder if any of the people who ...
