Re: Quicksilver
A design that it is 60 years old but could still beat the current record, that says something if you care to listen.

Re: Quicksilver
Nigel, As you well know there is a wooden boat been built in Aus that will soon run and I think it will run well above the design speeds of your craft and I am so sorry to say all your efforts over "how many years" will have be in vain. I am all for a Great Britain effort been old school &...

Re: Quicksilver
I am sorry to say that I think a basic principal of engineering regarding Quicksilver has gone completely overboard with design and has forgotten the basic simple rule which is KISS. I've never met Nigel who I'm sure is a good fellow but I'm sorry to say he will never be a record breaker, the soluti...

Re: New UIM cockpit rules
The required new rules that Ken has posted here are complete carbage in my opinon. How the hell do satsify these when you could be possible become airborne at over 400mph and the hit the water, no safety cell in the world know to man will prevent you from dying given this case. Health and safety com...

Re: Tribute Act
Can anyone tell me why Jim seemed to keep crossing his own wash by turning round all the time !! My guess is that he didn't want to get too far from base. The only other thought I have is that maybe he thought the wash would help the boat unstick from the displacement condition and plane. I seem to...

Re: Tribute Act
It would appear to me from what I have seen video footage wise that they don't have enough thrust to get the boat on the plane in the first place. This more than likely due to the inlet size strangling the engine that as has been discussed here on this thread at some length. Now I am going to put my...

Re Pic of the day Bill,
What are the two panel sections that can be seen under the boat?

Re: Lakeland Motor Museum/'Across The Lake' Mock Up/Sponsons
Just a thought here and I know I am possibly leaving myself open to ridicule but I know from own experience that this works. Why not use an experienced dowser to look at this yard? You can dowse for anything and it would be non obtrusive way in the first instance to try and determine whether the spo...
