Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

I fear the other side thinks the blue pieces are 100% theirs, you and your team happily voluntueered to donate all your hard work and all the new parts. Now that you are finally done (gee, what took you so long?) you should step back and have them take the credit. I assume there is no written contra...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

What's the truth worth these days when liars call information fake news and their own BS alternative facts? Don't waste your time arguing about (the/your) truth on forums. There will always be people blaming your for doing so. They say, if you need to defend yourself, then there must be some truth i...

Re: Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird in museum home row

In the past 20 years or so I have had my fair share of forum discussions, I have issued (and also received) fierce blows. I have never been shy of an argument. But in the end it has never lead to anything but high blood pressure. That beeing said, I think some things should not be discussed on publi...

Re: The Bloodhound SSC/Thrust/Noble Thread

How fast did you run the K7 model so far? The model is so nice, you probably don't want to risk it by pushing it to the scale speed limit. I was more thinking about test models for the aerodynamics and the behaviour of the craft. So not so much about building them to look like miniatures, but to res...

Re: The Bloodhound SSC/Thrust/Noble Thread

Concerning design I can only recommend to build a 1/10 to 1/6 scale RC model first and see how this behaves and to what speeds it can be run safely, before investing millions into the real thing. With todays electric batteries and fans - or in case you want it even more realistic with a micro turbin...

Re: The Bloodhound SSC/Thrust/Noble Thread

Does anyone know how much money went into the Bloodhound SSC project so far? How much are those 25m in relation to the overall investment? @BBP team: After your experience from restoring and operating Bluebird, what do you think how much it would cost to build a Bluebird 2.0 WWSR contender and how l...

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

The whole boat is a wing and works in ground effect as a self stabilizing system - which we want to keep. We are working on some small changes in several points to reduce the general lift gently. Adding (inverted) wings or spoilers tend to disturb the stability of the system, e.g. an inverted wing i...

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

As already DC used to know, records sometimes don't come easy and especially not as planned. Last weekend in September we had as record event for RC boats in Munich. I tried to push the current RC record (using 8 LiPo cells in an outrigger design) from 314km/h = 195mph to over 200mph. On the first r...

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models

I wouldn't mind seeing an armada of K7 scale models at the next training (or whatever it will be called).
