Re: BBP Diary
It's too chewy and gives me a nasty cough.
Interesting, just found a website with a badger stew recipe. Apparently after skinning and gutting it needs placing in a fast flowing river for 48 hours to de-grease it. Who knew?
Wonder how many badgers it took to find out 48 hours was the key.

Re: Technical Talk
Doing the website? Two diaries a year! ;) Yes it is now . Back then the diaries were a bit more frequent and all hard coded none of this copy and paste stuff would take a good few hours of coding to get them up. Not like the current site where I can sort it in under a hour depending on how pi...

Re: Pic of the Day
Canopy frame complete brought a lump to my throat. That moment is not too far off (hopefully within my lifetime), when you will reveal a finished cockpit canopy and we will cry seeing her true profile at last. Running Bluebird on Conniston might be the ultimate in engineering goals, for myself I wil...

Re: Pic of the Day
As usual you provide enough details in you replies to make us ever more in awe of the work you have done. Thank you as always.
Oh, I noticed in the pdf that S for Sugar, the oldest surviving Lanc had a new fuselage and later new wings fitted during her service life.

I hope you don't mind me jumping ahead 5 or 6 years. What are you plans for how she will be painted? A nice even colour overall with consistant number of layers below or are you going to try and replicate the, god knows, how many repaints she had in her life?

Re: Pic of the Day
The strange ways of the internet this morning took me from looking at the Workbench section on The Airfix website, to a pdf produced by the RAF museum at Hendon. Casual reading of said pdf brings up how S for Sugar was restored in Nov 1970... New perspex for canopy and turrets made using wooden form...

Re: Technical Talk
If you could rewind the clock but keep all the knowledge you've acquired on reworking the twisted and torn bits....is there any part of the rebuild you would do differently?
That is not implying inferior work in the past, just new ways of tackling the problems
