"This is the old engine being used to try out the systems but we might get a tune out of it just to thank it for all its self-sacrifice and let it feel the heat of combustion one last time before it goes in the skip." Re: Tribute Act

I have to say that as much as I am in the BBP 'camp', I was really tempted to take a 2 and a half hour drive up to Coniston to see it. regardless of the politics, what a feat of British engineering regardless of design and 'intellectual property'. (Sorry water speed fans, I am more an engineering fa...

Re: Gina on The Wireless

Quite a good hour's listening.

Loved the reference to Donald's 'social secretaries'!!

Bill got a mention early on, with much praise for both him and the rebuild, though no direct plug for the website.

Should be on iplayer later for those who want to listen in. **EDIT: this is the listen live link: http:...

Re: Bluebird Models

Damn, I was quite keen on getting one of these but seeing the raw castings now in such detail, there's a lot wrong there. Cockpit sides, foredeck area, steering blister, nose profile, flutes, base of tail fin, all are quite inaccurate. I'm sure it would still build into a reasonable little desktop ...

Revamped BBP Home Page

Hi all, Nice to see the revamped home page - presumably aimed at all the new visitors shoved in your direction from the documentary (really enjoyed it by the way). Just wondering what will happen to the 'traditional' pic of the day. As a regular visitor to the site for about 3 years now, the snippet...

Re: Shoes and Wedges

Sooner or later K7 is going to have to have her shoes/wedges re-produced. Has anyone contacted The Vickers works in Cross Gates, Leeds, or Vinters (part of Rolls-Royce I think) to see if they retained copies of the drawings? I'm afraid the Barnbow works at Crossgates has long gone, Steve. The build...
