Re: Pic of the Day

Interesting photo today, showing wooden wedge below the spar.
I'm no aerodynamicist but presumably its purpose was to encourage water thrown up to break away cleanly at the rear, rather than clinging to the rear casing?
What wood is it? A remarkable survival.

Shouldn't the staff of the senior flag be in front?

Re: Pic of the Day

**ANORAK ALERT**
In 1957 K7 ran on Consiston Water with Union/US crossed flags.
Not sure about the Scottish saltaire idea. Without wishing to get all political, I would prefer to see the crossed Union flags returned. Just my personal opinion.

Re: Pic of the Day

Will you be keeping the original paint / Union Jack on the tail fin, or will it be refinished?

Future historians may refer to it as the 2018 Loch Fad version

Re: Return to the Water

Sounds like DC dealt with key individuals rather than committees.
Thanks for the info Neil, much appreciated.

A committee is a cul-de-sac down which ideas are lured and then quietly strangled. (Sir Barnett Cocks)

Re: Return to the Water

Question for the historians.
Just wondering what sort of official permissions Donald Campbell had to negotiate in 1966 in order to run Bluebird K7 on Coniston Water?

Re: Pic of the Day

Bodywork is looking good and the daily pics are always interesting.

Today's caption (13/2/18) 'Here we’ve gotten all the way to the back...'

Gotten - ? Have you started using an American copywriter?

Re: Pic of the Day

When I used to illustrate jet engine fuel system maintenance manuals we had to get such details as direction of spring / thread helix correct.
Otherwise it would not get signed off and passed for release by QC.
