The jetcat may be underpowered it's normally pound of thrust to pound of weight so find out weight of boat if you go ahead make sure that hatch is watertight hope that helps could we see a picture of the nose front on.

Bluebird & Other Scale Models
Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models
That is an interesting looking Model, it looks suspiciously like an Early Speedline one (Clive??) They're bloody heavy! Minimum 21lb thrust turbine recommended, that's what I run in mine. Wishing you every success with it, hope you get it on the water soon
Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models
Nose front on picture as requested
Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models
Nose looks ok from picture , as to who's made it I don't know but I'm sure one of the others will find out and let you know .

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models
So when you say rule of thumb is a pound of thrust per pound of weight is that weight of model as it stands or completed weight including turbine, fuel etc.

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models
It's total weight as I understand but my model will be approx 27/28 Ib my turbine kicks out 35 Ib might be to much I'll have to see, with a model there is a lot to iron out but at least you have control of the throttle,,, when finished I'll be taking it slowly at first
I'm sure you'll get there in the end with build and it will work .

Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models
35 lb is a good choice, you can’t have enough power!
Re: Bluebird & Other Scale Models
That's true.
