The Bloodhound SSC/Thrust/Noble Thread

Concerning design I can only recommend to build a 1/10 to 1/6 scale RC model first and see how this behaves and to what speeds it can be run safely, before investing millions into the real thing. With todays electric batteries and fans - or in case you want it even more realistic with a micro turbine - the basic decissions can be made at a fraction of the cost and without risking someones life.

Does anyone know if there exists such models of either Quicksilver or Dave Warbys Spirit II? To be honest, I'd sh**t my pants trying to run a 1/10 scale model of either at a scale speed of aprox 100mph.

My dad ernie lazenby and i were only discussing he build a 1/6 th turbine quicksilver the other day. He is thinking of doing both quicksilver and warbys boat

How fast did you run the K7 model so far? The model is so nice, you probably don't want to risk it by pushing it to the scale speed limit.

I was more thinking about test models for the aerodynamics and the behaviour of the craft. So not so much about building them to look like miniatures, but to resemble the relevant proportions.

Ive ran it at 80 mph that was with 70 percent throttle i darent run it full power as my pants would be brown and if i crashed it my dad wouldn't speak to me again lol

If we're looking at full scale reproductions or our own fast speed designs, then I'm afraid that it's useless to ask the government (unless you want to ask the Chinese government, that is), at this point it's better to go search for funding among billionaires. Elon Musk would be the kind of guy to fund this, but then he may well claim it as his own design, so it's your call.

As soon as they went into administration, one knew it would be the end. Alas, the project took too long and sponsers get bored unless they get a return for their cash.
