Re: Other Speed Record Breakers Are Available!
Is it just me or did all that flame and oily-looking smoke not look terribly efficient or propulsive?

Excellent!14,000lbs of thrust apparently...
They'll just have to wash the car between runs to get the soot off.

Re: The Bloodhound SSC Thread
Looking at the test firing and reading the commentary on the Bloodhound website, I am full of admiration for the team designing and developing this revolutionary vehicle and Wingco Green for volunteering as the driver (or should that be Pilot?)
It is an outstanding feat of engineering and for me, one of the best aspects is that the UK is maintaining its rich LSR heritage by leading the World in the development of such a vehicle.

They mentioned yesterday that there would be another rocket test this year, with runway tests next year.
I was impressed with all of the team yesterday.

Re: The Bloodhound SSC Thread
It was amazing. Quite cool to be able to watch it live via their video link. Thought Andy Green's presentation was accessible and inspiring too. Thought there might have been more of a 'roar' rocketwise but it will certainly be one helluva noise with the jet engine too
