Interesting to read he'd like to survey HMS Barham, my fathers uncle was taken off that just before she blew apart, can't imagine much to see.

Saw that - the do-gooders plan to save the planet with hopeless electric cars by smashing up hydrothermal vents. Shame shrimps and jellyfish aren't as cute as Snow Leopards.

Well done those guys - used to love discovering new shipwrecks. Must get back to some of that once we get this little blue on back together. Liked the bit about Lexington not being retrieved because it's a war grave. Wouldn't have anything to do with it being an aircraft carrier in 2 miles of water then...

it would be exciting, Bill, if you could find a wreck with fabulous riches aboard, as had HMS EDINBURGH, salvaged, as you know, by the late Keith Jessop. The excitement in doing a job like that must be off the scale.

Another volunteer-led project success story that will see an historic paddler, laid up since 1981, returned to service. And I'm old enough to remember school trips on the Maid back in her 1960s heyday.

I visited the birthplace of the Olympic class liners in Belfast a few weeks ago, I was even lucky enough to get the Thompson Graving Dock to myself! The dock is an engineering wonder in itself, never mind the ships they held...
