Doesn't matter anyway - we've swapped him out for something much prettier. Doesn't John look good in that shot...

Hmm ....... what to do with so many BS Orpheus engines?

The outright British Land Speed Record is held by an Orpheus powered jet car.

The outright British Water Speed Record is held by a Beryl powered boat (that did accept an Orpheus).

A British team have used an Orpheus to power their demonstration jet boat.

So the answer is ................. mount each spare in something that rolls or floats ............ and go record breaking.

At least each will have a good test.

Shouldn't be the core engines that decide, if they're looked after. I'd guess it'll be the elastomers and such in the fuel system that'll finally put paid to the powerplant. Unless, of course, there's still a great bunch of boys and girls down at AEC many years from now.
