The picture of the infinity symbol reminds me that beneath the horizontal line is "K7". This is the registration number (7) after the letter K, which stands for Great Britain. However, in 1952 the Crusader boat used only a Union Flag, the infinity symbol and the number "6". The registration letter was not used. Anyone know why?

Not wishing to appear pedantic, but,.......I was always told that boats don't have a "left hand side"!

If it doesn't have a 'left hand side' it'll let all the water in.......

I never noticed that before! I have checked my files and there is nothing mentioned re the flag and Infinity. I attach a photo of the the crusader showing what you are talking about.
What is also curious, is that when you 'zoom in' on the flag it appears to have been painted upside down.

Are the panels going to be primed & painted before final fitting?

Every part is cleaned back to bare metal, chromate etch-primed and powder coated before fitment. Then every joint is sealed with a polysulphide jointing compound to prevent any dissimilar metal issues.

The term "Port" is a 19th century'ism anyway...


Real pirates refer to it as starboard and larboard.

I particularly like today's POTD - the underside of K7's bow, with the outer skin in place on one half, removed from the other, so that the underlying corrugated structure can be viewed within.

Those rivets look an absolute nightmare, they have RSI written all over them.
