Oh, hell! I'd forgotten about the wiring. There's a small light in the tail you can get going for now, if you like.

Merlin Pete converted a Meteor into a Merlin by adding a supercharger and a few other tweaks so it can be done. He's a great bloke. He once brought a real live Merlin to our yard and lit it up on the most bitterly cold morning imaginable and once he'd shut it down again we warmed our frozen fingers on the hot rocker covers.

No need to go to those lengths (or depths); there's one at the Ruskin Museum. I'm sure it'll fix..... ;)

Just read a bit about the Barra... Seems they first saw action in September 1943 during the invasion of Salerno... (Op Avalanche to us anoraks) which I might add my grandfather took part in as a Bren carrier driver...... Totally useless info for you guys but I found it interesting ! Will she be painted in the ME campaign colours then :-) ?
