Extra-terrestrial what? It looks like a chunk of that blue stuff has snapped off and landed in the sand to me.

One of my friends, who happens to be an amateur astronomer and avid follower of such things, has already vowed to give give me an almighty slap for when I pulled the same stunt on Facebook. :D
I didn't lie though - it's on the surface of Mars and came from another planet so is, by definition, "Extra-terrestrial".

Is it just me or does anyone else think "Johnny five" when you look at that photo of the Curiosity Mars Rover? :)
