It got me on the sailing thread a week or so ago, when I used the S word to refer to the helm of the boat, I hadn't noticed until posted that "Donald" came up instead...

I just chuckled and left it !

I would imagine DC helming a 49er would be somewhat hilarious......if not deadly.

hello everyone, i am in the process of building a 1/10 scale bluebird K7 and can't find any information regarding the instrument panel in the cockpit as to if it was painted with the RAL 5009 azure blue or ?, any help very much appreciated.

Hello, and welcome.

Yes, the instrument panel was painted- matt black, with vertical brush strokes! Then the cockpit sides and seat were dark blue vinyl and the floor/rest of the metalwork was a dirty silver. The harness was a lighter blue- off the top of my head, in modelling terms think of Humbrol 96.

Aye, that photo dates from the boat being rolled out at Norris Bros- the MPH gauge was moved up into the little box later on.

Mike,

You forgot to mention the little glare-shield-mabob above the ASI. I'm sure everyone will want to build one of those too. we had to, after all. :D

Oh, I don't know, a carefully filed and sanded toenail clipping ought to do the trick.
