One shilling was quite a lot back in 1955 not that Bill would know that being a youngster  , us old guys remember shillings and they could buy a lot.

How many of those tickets survived I wonder anyone else got one.

We found five and thruppence in Donald's overalls pocket, I bet you can translate that into real money, Mr old-timer...

In '67, I was a student and had a Mini-Van. As I recall, that amount would have got me about a gall. and a half of petrol, or nearly 70 miles from the 850cc engine. I could fill the tank for a quid -------------. Oh those marvellous Sixties!!

If folk were happy to pay a shilling in 1955 to see Bluebird how much would they be prepared to pay in 2011?

Wouldn't go that way Ernie-5p in 1955 is now worth the princely sum of £2:49 according to my then and now programme!-probably around £7.50 to £10:00 would be nearer to the true price of a crawl about K7 and a seat in the cockpit I think.
Pity K7 isn't a two seater-I'd happily pay a couple of hundred quid for a quick 100mph dash down Coniston!

Actually, I think you'll find that it costs £1,652.93p to sit on K7's new seat; all monies payable to 'M R Bull', please.

Pfft, get on to the BBMF and get a ride in a proper bomber!

As my dear old ex-Bomber Command grandad used to sing, to the tune of 'John Brown's Body'-

'We can fly a Flying Fortress up to thirty thousand feet
We can fly a Flying Fortress up to thirty thousand feet
We can fly a Flying Fortress up to thirty thousand feet
But we only carry a teeny weeny bomb
Glory, glory shall we drop it?
Glory, glory shall we drop it?
Glory, glory shall we drop it?
Shall we drop our teeny weeny bomb?'
