The Vulcan XH558 & General Aviation Thread
Re: The Vulcan XH558 & General Aviation Thread
Some brilliant, quietly competent piloting in the landing - holding the front wheel off like that without grounding the tail must take some skill and experience.

Wonder how they knew. Must've been quite a leak to be visible from anywhere, the ground or the instruments. Or maybe something wasn't running properly and that gave it away. Or did they land away somewhere and someone thought, where's this coming from?

Is Stuart about to explain exactly what would have to happen to make resurrecting Concorde a reality?

Can be summed up in two succinct phrases:
One is "Third party support" and the other is "Cloud cuckoo land".

'Dawn Sunrise' that's a hell of a name!
But, aside, XH558 is supposed to be flying a final countrywide tour next weekend, here's the Northern route for saturday,(https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewe ... _QAWQWnmes) up to press. It seems the South Yorks Police have warned that the XH558 people could be liable for costs regarding 'crowd control', etc, if too many folk turn up at Doncaster airport to watch take off & landing. This could jeopordise future flights, apparently, there are more flights in October but after that it's curtains for the last remaining Vulcan.

I though this might amuse.
