Fantastic machine!
Did anyone but me see Seb Vettel at the weekend being shown a picture of it and saying, 'That's ugly, I wouldn't like to to 1000mph in that!'
I had to chuckle - I'd imagine a few people being most indignant at that remark but it was typical, off the cuff Vettel

An extraordinary achievement to get this far. Incredible. Especially in today's climate, with sponsorship budgets being cut across the board.

Completely understandable. Even building that machine is an amazing achievement and I can't imagine how much work is going on behind the scenes to get it running in anger. It's frantic enough trying to get a little tin boat back into working order!
I've every faith that Richard will pull it off.

Good news that the final sponsorship/partnership deals seem to be in place and the Team can finally press on towards the attempt. I wish them every good fortune.
A great piece of British engineering and in the true spirit of Donald Campbell who was proposing his own 800 mph plus attempts 50 years ago!

That just shows how technology in general has advanced since the era when K7 was a record breaker. If Donald Campbell & his team were all alive & attempting either water or land speed records, the 21st century Bluebird would doubtless have all the bells & whistles that 2016 could supply. In fact, wasn't K7 considered to be technologically advanced when it was first built?Mike Bull wrote:Andy Green's latest diary is quite the read...it makes K7's cockpit seem even more antiquated than ever!

I wonder why the half Union Jack graphic is upside down on the tail fin?

They like to copy us - K7's is the wrong way up. And they call their diary a diary too...I wonder why the half Union Jack graphic is upside down on the tail fin?

Indeed! And I hear they are ditching the rocket engine for a Nuclear power plant

The Geely cars are just for the South African attempt, if I read the statements made on Monday correctly. The Jaguar engine stays to pump peroxide. Bloodhound branded Jaguar cars have been seen on the roads of the UK.Mike Bull wrote:Not sure if it's correct but someone online pointed out that all mention of Jaguar has been removed from the car and their website- but I guess sponsors come and go.
