As long as my gallbladder behaves (due for removal 2nd December) I shall be there as well, as a contributor. I have been asked if I have any copies of Leap Into Legend I could bring along. The answer is no, I didn't retain any, plus, it's David's day, not mine, I think it would be a bit off if I did have any and took them along!!

One part had me howling laughing... the 'Larch Towers'.parts of the boat are drawn exactly to what we've done
They're not called Larch Towers, for goodness sake! We made that up.

Can't remember what they're really called, we'd have to pull the drawing, but on there somewhere it says to pack the insides with finest spruce, which somehow became larch, which then gave its name to the parts themselves but they're actually made of 316 stainless. The drawing allows for them to be fully welded or riveted so we welded them then put the rivets in so they looked like the old photos. Not a splinter of larch anywhere.by larch you mean high grade steel towers !

I was rather late to David de Lara's Speed Odyssey book, as I don't collect nowadays and therefore normally don't even look - but I'm impressed. It is set out in a very clear way and has a good feel to it. The illustrations are superb and the text is nice and breezy.
I really hope it's doing well on the sales front, as it deserves a wide audience. I can't see how anyone could fail to find this account of Donald's life and achievements exhilarating.
It's stirring stuff!
