Steve ...

Your book looks like its an appreciating asset... This seller has 10 to go at £49 a pop ... Must have been a box that was put aside ...

I actually haven't got a copy, honestly, and I'm not paying £49 to get one. The record is a signed (by me as well, but mainly by other more deserving people) copy that went for £599, and some prices on Amazon got up to £399 for a while. Of course I earn bugger all, but it does make you feel good.

A bit of advice Neil, make sure you get the first copy off the line, then get all the contributors to sign it, and then put it somewhere safe. I did that with my first TV script, my first book and even the tape of my first televised documentry, but I didn't keep a copy of Leap, mainly because I still have most of the research stuff, and the original manuscript to refer to, but I really wish I could have Arthur's artwork for the cover. He nailed my request first go, even Jean said "oh that's superb, he looks like he could still get that back".

Neil has the opportunity to release the definitive book on K7, he has access to the actual craft, and a freedom I didn't have. K7 was still on the bottom of Coniston, plus I still ave mixed feelings about seeing her, and working with Jean,Tonia etc, I was asked not to include pictures of the accident, which made the last chapter a little harder to do, but that's how they wanted it. Neil can just go for it, and I' like a lot of other people, can't wait!!

Steve.

I've got a spare copy of 'leap' you can have.

Thanks for your kind words, I hope the book does the subject justice. One thing I'm not including are any images of the wreck as it was recovered. If that disappoints a few people, so be it, but I just never liked looking at any of those images.

I think the images we are going to use will more than make up for that omission!

I've always pictured Neil's book as being THE work on the 66/67 period, and that's what I'm expecting/hoping to get from it- I think it's for Bill to pick up the tale from 2001 onwards in print in the fullness of time.

Oh hell, another ebay opportunity. Get behind me satan, this LSR/WSR collecting is starting to cost me a fortune!! :-) Stop posting links to things I can buy!!! :-)

Really looking forward to adding your book to the expanding collection Neil ! (Especially those signed early additions!).

Stew.

(Mind you, you want to try collecting Chris Nixon's books - that's really dangerous for the wallet, but fabulous books!)
Good luck to the BBP team, makes me proud to be British (and a North-easterner to boot!). Damn fine work, chaps!
