Although the aerodynamics are slightly out of sink at the front end. And the milometer is closing rapidly on 140k the two know all doubting Thomas's who laugh so loudly can take a ride with me anytime
Alan is a real gent never complains and as he says he just sits there quietly and enjoys the ride. :D However I have noticed from time to time a grin come over Alan's face out of the corner of my eye as I've had to hit the loud pedal even harder to get passed those blasted arctic's on the A69 before the next bend comes up ,well I think it was a grin?

I always say to anybody getting in the car with me if they feel nervous at anytime just let me know and I will get back on the loud pedal

Our resident Head of Operations traveled down to Pendine with me once only and can vouch for my ability to get every inch out of the vehicle :D

Although I am a biker at heart some do have great problems with cornering at 130 plus  However there was one of those moments when I was on the A34 at Tittensor near Trentham gardens S.O.T I kid you not. There are multiple speed camera's on that stretch and whilst on the ZZR1100 I became aware of a Sierra RS500 Cosworth was up my backside and wanting to go for it as we left the last camera zone and hit the long straightaway down to Trentham. No longer possible due to an island now in place . At 130 he was still there 140 still there 150 still there 160 still there, then next I glanced in the mirror a great plume of smoke was streaming from the engine bay area he had blown it big time. YES YES get in there :D I felt at the time as i punched the air just one of those moments in time guys, had to be there.

Novie
See you real soon guys and girls

This thread has really gone astray guys and girls!

Try cornering one at 180 plus! :P

Admittedly, it wasn't what one might normally refer to as a 'corner', but when the peg touched down it felt more like a hairpin!

I left my finger prints in the dash as the 'brace' position was adopted as a muppet executed a dangerous turn to pull in front of us.

Do not race Novie on two wheels as he came by me on another Pendine run on the heads of the valley road as if I was in first gear.

New members will be getting the flavour that all involved in the BBP are gearheads and speed lovers. :o

wbjohn wrote:" 150 mph plus......in a Scooby " me thinks dyslexia, should it not be km/h, I recall the wrx sti quoted at 180 km /h which is about 110 mph factory limited ( and yes before someone shouts I know it's easy to remove the limiter ), saying that though I always remember the digital dash in my astra had a little switch which would turn the speedo to km /h was great watching people's faces as the numbers clicked up rapidly.
On the other hand, I've never been in a impreza over 70 mph so what do I know ;) .
This thread is turning into a piston heads thread. Back to the boat, apologies for digressing.

Can we carry on a short while, please?
Press release from Subaru-
SUBARU SMASHES ISLE OF MAN LAP RECORD WITH STANDARD WRX STI
09/06/11 from Subaru

The long-standing road-car lap record for the Isle of Man TT circuit has been comprehensively smashed in a production-spec Subaru WRX STI saloon. In his very first run around the challenging 37.8-mile course, former British Rally Champion Mark Higgins posted a blistering lap time of 19 minutes and 56.7 seconds, translating to an average speed of 113mph. The peak speed achieved during the lap was 162mph.

Higgins' time is more than two minutes faster than the previous record, set by the late Tony Pond 21 years ago to the day (on 6 June 1990), at the wheel of an Rover 827 Vitesse. Pond was the first to break the average 100mph barrier in a road car, and his lap record has stood ever since.

And short clip,
watch how the steering wheel moves at about 50 seconds,
remembering he's on a straight piece of road, at about 150!!
(and check out how 'cool' the co-driver manages to stay!)

Just catching up with the postings today Gents. :D

Yes Richie it is the Sportswagon you are quite correct and not the 2011 brand new shape, how I wish. I see your mate Tom in the mini is what we used to call a "point and squirt merchant". Couldn't help but notice the guy in the lime green mini fly by him on one of the corners but enjoyed watching the clip all the same. Perhaps he should take up fishing too :D
I really enjoyed the Higgins lap awesome and what a recovery thanks for the link to that one and the 850 H.P Subaru drifting guys wickedly awesome . The Tree Huggers out there would love that Scorpion tank destroying all that terrain  Good job we didn't need a byelaw for that tank to run!

And obviously this link below was from one of your own home made movies from your youth I would say matey.
