Isn't that a genuine Gnat fin that I see in the 12th & 14th photos in the "building the boats" sequence?

That's well in-keeping with honouring the memory of Donald and the history of K7,

If I remember rightly (and I may have been replenishing the sauvignon and missed it) but "Crashing the water barrier" doesn't mention the sinking in Lake Mead! :-)
Good luck to the BBP team, makes me proud to be British (and a North-easterner to boot!). Damn fine work, chaps!

Nicely done website, though this bit did make me laugh-

'This is not a website based upon varying hypothetical artist impressions, mock ups, boastful dialogue...

...The K777 hull is an all aluminium engineering work of art...'

Lots of revisionist history writing going on there about the original origins and intent of the thing too but we've done that to death now, and maybe if the Type IIIs and their Type II followers say it often enough it will become the truth, eh?

The best thing Helical can do is get their new design built and properly running- I'm sure we'd all like to get behind and cheer on a proper British WWSR challenger that had it's own identity, rather than a shamelessly appropriated approximation of someone else's...

The purple prose has been laid on a little thick, methinks. I'm surprised they haven't adopted Kimbustion's cringeworthy ditty "Welcome to the team" as their project anthem...

It's a few years old now...I received a free copy out of the blue when I purchased my copy of the Leo's Album book...while undoubtedly meant well, it's shockingly bad- probably one of the worst bits of Campbell related tat to ever appear.

All together now...

'If you think that Bluebirds' gone/you're wrong, you're wrong/just dig a little deeper...'

Dreadful.

Hmmm, a little cringeworthy, isn't it. And you'd think they'd have re-branded their craft before the website went up, all things considered. Never mind...

This is not put on as a public entertainment... it's put on to reach a certain goal.
