The tribute act are already helping us, look at the site stats for today.

Yup... and as well as learning about the real machine all those new visitors are spending in our shop. Told you having a tribute act would raise our profile.

There was never any doubt of that...just so long as we keep trading on them, and not the other way around!

Isn't that what a tribute act is supposed to do?

Hi All,

Well thank goodness she is out in the public eye at last. Anyone who really knows me will realise just how hard it was for me not to talk about her to anyone, or just say too much during the build. But if you do know me, then you’ll also know that if someone asked me to keep something quiet, then that’s how it will stay, until I’m given permission to talk.

Although I have not been able to work on her, I have been to the work shop several times, usually on our many trips up to see the ‘Corp’. (no pic’s I’m afraid, as they were also banned) I also introduced Dave into their group, at a time when he needed a bit of help.

Tony has added more photos onto his face book page and of cause to my, and I believe there is also a clip of video he’s added the SRG, of the ‘Orpheus’ being fired-up today.

My thanks to you Tony and my congratulations to all concerned at Lytham. Well done Charles, it’s been worth the wait.

As to the member, who asked why? This I can easily answer. Charles is a true Campbell enthusiast just like many of you and me, but unlike most of us he has put his money where his mouth is.

Yes, a true mans toy, I hear you say, but Charles has done what he set out to do. Build a ‘replica’ or near replica, purely to pay tribute to Donald and to his beautiful Bluebird.

But unlike several other groups who, have been in contact with me over the last ten years or so, he has got his finder out and got it built!

Regards to all, Fred

I'd say that to dip into the Campbell legend you must seek and obtain permission from the family for whatever it is you want to do before running off on your own agenda.

That's page-one.

Fair enough, there's a gaggle of Type IIIs involved and you'd expect them to be appropriately stupid but Charles is an intelligent man. What happened there?

Well after seeing the pictures and reading the Spiel it once again only goes to prove there are some very strange people about! I really can't quite work it all out and the only thing I can seem to come up with from a humanistic behavioural patterning angle is = Obsession to the point of needing to lie on a couch and talk to someone. Where’s the Reliant Motor Company Badge situated? Quite simply how very odd and WHY? Will they also be building a replica Ruskin museum Bluebird wing as well to house it in?

Electric start? Tut! So now it doesn't even sound like K7 on start up, either!

When Donald Campbell's original air start system spins up an Orpheus in Donald Campbell's original boat with the air rushing in through Donald Campbell's original inlet bullet and Donald Campbell's original igniters and Donald Campbell's original fuel system and much of Donald Campbell's original oil system come into play also, THEN it will mean something.

See, the clue is in the name. 8-)

From the comments under the Facebook photos-

Gina Campbell
I only c this a fraudulent copy to serve what purpose I ask except confuse and hurt

Gina Campbell
I can only wonder WHY? This is clear case 'passing off' denigrating past men's great achievements

I hope they are happy with themselves.

Having just realized the deliberate and inflammatory posting on the S.R.G I
think we need to clarify a few points here Mr.Aldred and the K777 team. We were
originally invited around to Pier Cottage By Mr.Charles Morris,Ben Morris and
Tobias Morris when they made some purchase's in the Coniston Newsagency on
Sunday evening. Then we were asked by Mr.David Aldred not to slag off the
Project or bad mouth them in anyway shape or form around at Pier Cottage! And at
least not publicly. Paul and I were observing only and we do not thank you for
ASSUMING our opinions. Also you stated you did not want to see slanging matches
on a public forum yet here you are deliberate fueling the situation for your own
ends!

We were polite and courteous returning the politeness shown to us. WE DID NOT
EXPECT OUR OPINIONS TO BE ASSUMED AND POSTED ON A PUBLIC FORUM.WE DO NOT EMBRACE
ANYTHING ABOUT THE TRIBUTE ACT.
