Ruskin selling Photo's on ebay

Don't usually point out K7 photos on ebay but the Ruskin are selling these and I thought they maybe of interest.

That's me I confess.

We had five colour images of K7 at Ullswater printed last summer for sale at the Ruskin Museum. With business slow in the off season, not many have sold, so with this in mind, I offered to sell them on ebay for Vicky, with the museum handling the postage and dispatch.

Colour images of Bluebird at Ullswater are pretty scarce and the prints are of excellent quality. They were done by Whitewall.com on Fuji Archive Crystall II paper. We limited the print run to 10 of each, so they will be pretty rare items.

Needless to say, the profits go to a very good cause.

Neil - not clear here - maybe I have missed something - what is the good cause?

Checkie, Neil said these prints are being sold in support of the Ruskin museum- it's nothing to do with the BBP or it's serious rivet buying addiction!

I assume monies raised for the Ruskin these days go towards the general cost of lighting and heating the BB wing, as all the fancy display cabinets etc were all paid for by grants weren't they?

Or maybe they are funding a new website for themselves... ;)

Nope, I stand by that one- and we've often mentioned it on here before. That website will one day become the online 'front door' to everything we're all working towards...

Mike,

I certainly agree about the website, and I know Vicky wants to do something about it.
I suppose the good cause is as you say, general Bluebird wing upkeep, although I would like to think that if the Project itself required monies, then any proceeds from this little venture could be directed towards yourselves. That though is a decision for the Ruskin museum principals. Re the cabinets, not sure if they also had to raise matching funds.
Bottom line is, I hope. We're all playing for the same team.

I don't think there's any doubt about that. It's a little annoying that vast sums are spent on a museum display when the rebuild has never attracted any grants or outside funding and lives hand to mouth. It feels like putting the cart before the horse but, of course, it isn't, and we don't want the fruit of our hard labour going into anything but the best display.
We nay have to pull rank, though, as they're dead set on putting the boat arse-about-face so you get a magnificent view up her jetpipe as you walk into the room all ready to be wowed... stupid idea!

Similarly, I personally raise an eyebrow when I see the museum forking out to people to make things that should have been blagged/donated...fancy gates, for example. But I guess we're two different worlds at the moment, doing things our own different ways, on an eventual converging course that will culminate in the boat being wheeled into her new home...nose first, of course! :D
