'fraid so but we don't make a habit of it. It only happened once.

Entering the arena towards the end of 2011, the K777 Team...

To be fair to them, they've had their punch on the nose, taken it like men, patched things up with the Campbell family and yomped onwards. I wish them the very best of luck and they've certainly produced far more in the way of tangible results than, purely for example, the Quicksilver people. The build photos and video are fascinating; I wonder what Gnat donated the fin? It doesn't like look like the all-red fin from their own example (XM708). I also note from the video that their team includes two blonde hotties, so on that score they are already one up on the K7 boys (no offence to 'Girl' as I a) don't know what you look like and b) understand you can wield power tools!).

We also have Helen and Lucy who are great on the tools as well as our tame Museologist Louise so that's 4-2 and all our girls are hot brunettes!
Bangers!

If you look at it that way, then you could say the same of the British Pursuit team, in that they both produced a craft that looked the business, didn't plane and had as much chance of breaking a meaningful speed record as DMC did on a water scooter.
Can you imagine the howls of derision that would have greeted the Quicksilver team if they had come up with a stunt like that?

I am looking forward to finding a speed project with a "big unruly personality dominating" it. Can anyone suggest where I might find one

I almost choked on my beer when I read that... What can it possibly mean? I thought. And then the penny dropped. They're meaning that Campbell-Warby McNoble bloke. Have you heard of him?

You talking about novie, right? :0))

On a serious note does/should any one personality dominate a project, it's a team effort after all?

By the way...

I also note from the video that their team includes two blonde hotties, so on that score they are already one up on the K7 boys (no offence to 'Girl' as I a) don't know what you look like and b) understand you can wield power tools!).

I'll have you know that ALL our beautiful girls can wield power tools...

Helen.jpg

Helen, better half to Mike and chief in charge of zinc plating and Orph' gearboxes.

Louise.jpg

Louise, our tame museologist, expert in museum conservation, keeping our toilet clean for God only knows what reason and the supply of chewy sweets to the workshop.

Girl.jpg

'Girl', superb aluminium TIG welder and general good sport.

Lucy.jpg

Lucy, Jordan's good lady and all round, damn good hand on the tools.

Sorry, Lucy - just had to use that shot. :D

I certainly would.

There's a world of difference between talking about it and going out and actually building something and then trying to get it to work and I have a lot of respect for them for doing that. The original K7 didn't exactly cover itself in glory when first introduced to the water, did it? If DMC had run out of money then, he'd have been in the same position as British Pursuit.
