Have not been to Goodwood in recent years so only saw pictures of the engine/chassis last year.

One wonders why do it? There again, I suppose it is having sufficient funds to indulge the diesel engine business in something sexier than any truck or earth mover.

As it is said to be fitted with modern suspension perhaps it should be used to challenge the speeds set by Graham Moss in Thunderbolt (aero engined Bentley) around Millbrook's high speed test track for some UK records. Would they try Rockingham Oval? The company has sufficient money to go to Nardo if they so choose to exceed the Cobb closed course record speed. But it would be a faux attempt compared with speeds on the Brooklands banking complete with bumps.

Interesting that they promote their project on being a more economical vehicle to run than the original Railton, but then they want to pit one against the other.

Anyone know what is happening with last years talking point. As the only one 'of its type' there should have been some information (or do such craft hibernate for the long UK winter).

Tricky...

No discussion of said 'act' is going to remain restrained for long, hence the eventual closure of the original thread. It was inevitable that someone was going to mention it again though- I was expecting it the other week as there's just been a little magazine feature about it. (That actually sent quite the trickle of trade in our direction by way of people choosing to seek out the real thing instead, which was nice to see.)

Asides from that I fully expect it to turn up again at records week this year, when the whole thing is sure to flare up again, like it or not. But for now, perhaps we should just leave it, eh?

The contract has been awarded to refloat the Costa Concordia so she may be broken up or refitted to sail again with a new name and under a whole new brand, but one thing you can be damned sure of is that she'll never be the Costa Concordia again - there's a very basic lesson there and a fiver says the tribute act won't have learned it by records week.
