I know there's folk who are touchy about this subject, but it's worth remembering that Lakeland isn't the only place that holds pieces of K7...

Ah, the old expression about pushing butter up a porcupine's bottom with a hot needle springs to mind.

Where are those pieces currently located ?

Is that the orginal seat or piece or it ?

They're at that Felching Manor place.

It's the original headrest dating from Australia through until the crash in '67. This was a separate piece from the actual seat, (something most model manufacturers/builders get wrong) which was also plucked from the water post-crash. As recovered the headrest was separated from the metal plate that it fixed to- this was never found and remains in the lake.

Excellent thanks Mike.

I might be wrong but I thought after the crash the seat was offered to Tony by Leo but he didn't want it and I don't know what happened after that.

I've no idea re the fate of the seat. Here's a still from newsreel of the headrest being recovered-

Have we ever listed everything that we know of that was recovered at the time, and it's fate?

To get us started off the top of my (very tired) head-

* F21 bulkhead with piece of frame tube -Filching

* Both sponsons -scrapped

* Pieces of sponson tops -cut up, distributed by Leo, infinity symbol section at Filching

* Big tangle comprising steering box/column with part of the wheel, right cockpit rail, panel mounting bar and associated bulkhead - ?

* Donald's '67 harness - cut off boat underwater and apparently now at Filching.

* Seat - fate unknown

* Headrest - at Filching

* Section of right side spar box and associated closing plate- Lakeland museum

* Donald's inner and outer helmets- Ruskin I think?

* Donald's socks, boots, life jacket, and a glove- ? (We have the other glove)

Now what have I forgotten?

Hi Malcolm
My Humble apologies for spelling Edwins surname incorrectly and thank you so much for swiftly pointing out my error. In my defense I was in a rush to catch a ferry to Ireland at the time. I just nipped on to the forum before departing when I noticed this subject matter had crept up on the forum once again.
I wanted to quickly make everybody aware of what had happened previously so if new negotiations could take place they had all the facts.
However whilst online I just wanted to correct Bills last posting when he refers to 'Feltching' Manor which as you and I both no Malcolm is infact 'Filching Manor' :)
Cheers
Novie
