It looks incredibly small there. I think a lot of people are going to get a real surprise at the scale of the real thing. She's HUGE by comparison.

To be fair to the production though, they about get away with it- certainly I never spotted the scale difference for years until Bill pointed it out to me, and he'll tell you that I don't often miss things like that!

I just noticed where they have put the turbine end of the jet engine looks like the jet pipe is about 6 inches long

The water brake and stabilising fin are missing too, if we're looking for details.

In one of the early shots of the replica K7, either one of the spray gaurds or cockipt canopy is quite badly cracked. Not watched Across The Lake for a while now but it was definititely there! Chris

From memory, it's the canopy- a crack running up from the left rear lower corner. Overall there's a lot 'wrong' with the mock-up, but I guess they did the best they could at the time.

They did really well at the time, not least to inspire a whole new generation who saw the film. Thats what did it for me! Chris

Certainly; aside from a very vague memory of my Nan telling me that 'Bluebird was the best' at Beaulieu when I was tiny, it was 'Across The Lake' that got my interest going, followed then of course by the efforts of a certain Geordie bloke in 2001.
