Border Film Archive

Postby rob565uk » Wed Mar 31, 2010 3:41 pm

I have just come across some interesting material on YouTube. it's one of a series of clips taken from "The Price of a Record" by John Pett and all clips are notable for their clarity.

Here is an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXufighmMp8

As the clip shows, this is one of many being held in the Border Film Archive at the University of Cumbria. There is a website http://www.itvborderarchive.com, but it's still under construction.

However, by using the search term "border film archive bluebird" on YouTube, a good number of interesting clips can be found, for example an interview with one of the cameramen who filmed the 1967 crash. It looks like there may be some interesting material available from the main archive once it's open.

Rob,

Thanks for that. It's a great resource. Interesting that only the parts that Border actually filmed are included in the clips, so you don't get the full Price of a Record even though it was a production by 'four companies productions' that included Border TV. None of the colour How long a mile footage from Aus is included.

Although I found a horrific clip from the 25th anniversary gathering, (which I am sure Bill attended??). It's all very good, but there's a short section before an interview with Robin (Richardson) which is very dire, sorry!!!

That would make our Bill a closet anorak dating back to 1992...that can''t be right?!

And as for this one-
