Want to own a part of history ?

Indeed, I had a good go at buying it but was outbid - I hope it goes to an appreciative home!

Andy, please keep us posted as other flakes become available. I for one will keep watching until I get one on my wall :D

Which interestingly is exactly what I have just emailed the winning bidder  !!

I can sell scrap me ....

Yes, some more flakes to come - I think I may start to do a few different designs, that way people won't only be getting an exclusive part of waterspeed history to treasure, but something unique that nobody else will have./

I'll keep you all informed when the next one becomes available

Thanks for the interest, and remember, as I said to the chap who won tonight - the money is 100% benefit to the project, I make nothing at all out of this - ( I get my pleasure from seeing a lump of scrap paint in a nice display and thinking - I made that )

Cheers

Interesting seeing comments about the dubious quality of certain Campbell merchandise ... well fret not enthusiasts, because there are some people knocking out a few decent items on the kitchen table with some card, a stanley knife and some double sided tape ! ... and one such item has just gone on Ebay ... a rather fine example if I say so myself - another one with some different pictures this week - a lovely paint flake as well - all that love and care, and I can't keep them all myself ... gutted I tell ya .... gutted ...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300476248615&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

Still, your chance to grab one while they last ... not many more left, and will the next one be as good as this one ? ... that's the gamble ... but I'd rather grab one now while you have a chance, before you're cursing in 10 years time that you never took the opportunity - when they are changing hands for 2x, 3x or even more times what you paid ...

Buy one as a Christmas present ... I bet that would be a delightful surprise on Christmas morning !

Cheers

Let's see...item actually IS from Bluebird as stated...check! Item is NOT a synthetic Casio-special album of pop songs with excruciatingly bad lyrics about Donald and Bluebird...check! Item is NOT a copy of edition 1,409,206 of 'The Bluebird Years'...check! Item is NOT a malformed plastic monstrosity...check! Item is NOT someone flogging their surplus Bluebird Project wear...check!

Yup, must be the sole decent Bluebird thing on ebay worth having!

Can't believe you left out the most important part ...
The item isn't being sold soley to line the pockets of the person making and selling said item ... but for the sole purpose of funding the project ... CHECK

We've had lots of pressure from enthusiasts who would really treasure a paint flake but the price is just a bit too high every time one comes up. Andy does an absolutely superb job of mounting and selling them but, at this stage in the game, they must go to the highest bidder because the rebuild lives from hand to mouth. It always has, but you know that already. The day we put someone on wages the landscape alters irreparably so we stay with the Donald Campbell business model - beg borrow or steal. So all I can say to those who want a flake but can't quite afford one is to hope that we have some left when the job is done and give us a hard time about how you've tried for years to get one!
