After admitting during a banter post with my pal itsawrap that i had never visited a large superstore it is my sad duty to report that i have had the misfortune of having to do so. We had to get passport photos for i.d cards at work. Why i dont know as all of the staff know me better than thier own families. Hi Rob they shout as I walk by, while you have your steps can you look at this socket under my desk for me? I noticed our security guy had the same type of thing round his neck so I asked him where i could have my photos done.
" Well yer can gan ter Morrisons doon off the coo gate roondaboot or Asda doon at Gosfarth"
Not wanting to take my chances at Morrisons at Cowgate roundabout, (Never know who you might bump into so to speak) I opted for Asda in Gosforth. Well i knew this was one thing i could not send my wife or ageing mother for.
One thing i noticed is that people who use these places are alergic to walking. Massive car park they have but people are waiting for spaces within 10 meters of the store while further back are hundreds of places. I hoyed my van in 1 of these and walked the 50 meters to the store. Hey i am not kidding they have loads of stuff inside lads, so much so it took an hour to find the photo booth.Found out you have to pay for it though . £6.00 lighter i returned to my van to find a large scrape up the side, and four spaces down in an unrelated incident 2 women arguing over a pile of red plastic.
You couldnt make it up. Just wonder if my friend Pat Wairs had changed her shopping venue.
