I was referring to the whole thing (plate i mean), It just seems somehow.......Odd.

Maybe it is the size of font, the spacing, the overall size or a combination of those three things, but somehow that reg number just seems odd to me.

I think it's just slightly off-scale, as you suggest. But then, I've always thought that the stuck-on style of number plate looked 'orrible in real life anyway!

Looking about online, I found mention that Donald's car was resprayed in it's original 'Opalescent Silver Blue', which does sound like it would be a metallic shade?

EDIT- here's an E Type painted in that shade-

-which allowing for the washed out colours in this image, seems right-

hmmmm.......not a lot of difference in the plates, but enough to look odd on the model.

I wonder if a release will be made showing the car in straight (non-metallic) blue as per during DMC's ownership? (Or am I dreaming that it was ever straight blue??)

***** EDIT *****

Just noticed the model lacks the additional "Bars" between the overriders

Perhaps the 'odd looking' stick on number plate was because he also used to 'change' the car reg number to 'DC7' when in the lakes.

Well, not during the last attempt he didn't- it was GLM 37C all the time then.

Main issue is the typeface. Those of a certain age are very familiar with the standard typeface from UK numberplates from that era, and every character on the model has distinctive differences from the characters on the real thing, which is why it will always look wrong. The spacing is slightly off also, but that could be forgiven as the plates were made up by hand.

Those happy to pay nearly a hundred quid an inch for a book may also like this- much better value at under £29 an inch!

That must be the raised ground clearance CN7. Perfect for the Australian outback. Nice... A snip.
